What font formats are supported for upload?
TTF (TrueType) and OTF (OpenType) files work best. WOFF and WOFF2 are also accepted. Maximum file size is 30 MB. The font is loaded directly into your browser and embedded into the PDF โ it never leaves your device.
What is the difference between the Primary Font and Script Font slots?
Primary Font is used for Latin-script languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Malay (Rumi), and any other language written in the Latin alphabet. Script Font is used for languages with complex scripts: Arabic, Jawi, Hindi (Devanagari), Tamil, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Hebrew. Upload the appropriate font in each slot and the tool automatically routes each card to the correct font based on what characters it detects.
Why is the single-story ษ important for young learners?
Children in British and Malaysian schools learn to write the single-story ษ, but most computer fonts show the double-story "a". This mismatch confuses early readers. The default Andika font uses single-story ษ and ษก that match handwriting instruction. If your school uses Sassoon Primary or another approved literacy font, upload it to get exactly the right letterforms.
How does Arabic and Jawi text shaping work?
Arabic and Jawi letters change shape depending on their position in a word (isolated, initial, medial, final forms) and form ligatures. PDF generation libraries cannot apply these rules. We solve this by rendering Arabic and Jawi text through the browser's own text engine โ which applies full OpenType shaping โ and embedding the result as a high-resolution image in the PDF. Upload an AmiriJawi or Noto Sans Arabic font for the best results.
Can I use this for Hindi, Tamil, Thai, or other Indic or Southeast Asian scripts?
Yes โ upload a font that covers your script in the Script Font slot. Devanagari (Hindi, Marathi), Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Thai, Khmer, and Myanmar scripts all render correctly because the browser handles the complex shaping rules. Without a script font uploaded, the tool uses the system serif fallback which may not have full coverage.
How do I print double-sided flashcards correctly?
Generate your PDF, then print odd pages first (fronts), flip the stack, and print even pages on the reverse. Most printers have a duplex setting that automates this. The cutting guides help ensure clean card edges when trimming.
Can I save my work and come back later?
No data is stored for privacy. Export your cards to CSV before closing, then re-import them next session. This keeps zero data on any server while giving you a backup of your content.
